Flowing north from Horton Lake, the Horton River is mainland Canada’s most Northerly River. This incredible river trip is perfect for those adventurers interested in heading north of the Arctic Circle to the land of the midnight sun to explore one of Canada’s most remote and wild rivers. Its crystal clear waters flow north through incredible tundra, and canyons before reaching the Arctic Ocean at Franklin Bay. There is an incredible abundance of wildlife including caribou, muskoxen, grizzly bears, falcons, and eagles along the river, as well as tremendous fishing opportunities for arctic grayling, lake trout, and arctic char. Along with this awe inspiring landscape rich in northern flora and fauna, there is a rich cultural history on the Horton River dating back as far as 2500 BCE. This once in a lifetime trip will fly in to the river from Inuvik, NWT, and upon paddling to the Arctic Ocean will return to Inuvik. Guests on this river can expect to paddle through incredible dramatic arctic landscapes, dine on incredible meals, and enjoy the adventure of a lifetime in Canada’s far north.
