A wonderful opportunity for some quality time with your favourite women in your life! Mothers and daughters, friends, sisters, colleagues, really any ladies that would like an incredible adventure this summer with other fantastic women. Must be 19 years of age or older to join this trip.
The Noire (Black) River is a remote river located in Western Quebec and flows into the Ottawa River near the village of Davidson. The river is relatively small and the terrain alternates between Canadian Shield rock and sand.
The Noire River is the little sister to the Dumoine River. With a total length of 238 km, this spectacular whitewater canoe route is filled with breathtaking views, wildlife and classic class 1, 2 and 3 rapids. Compared to the Dumoine or the Coulonge, the Noire has the highest total running length of rapids (51 rapids), the lowest distances of portages, the best opportunities to view wildlife, and the lowest boat traffic. While it is a river that allows participants to believe that they are traveling in secluded wilderness, the Noire also offers numerous access points in case the need arises, allowing for effective risk management.
Our women’s trip starts and ends at a Bed & Breakfast in Waltham, QC where we spend our first and last night. Starting at the bottom of De I’lslet rapids, we will paddle a total of 63kms over 5 days, ending at the Black River Inn. With huge sandy beach campsites on every bend of this meandering river we have lots of options of where to set up camp for the night. Enjoying lots of time for swimming, reading, eating, yoga and enjoying our time together in the wilderness.
Our final night together is spent back at our BnB right on the Ottawa river where we will enjoy a hot tub and Pizza dinner before heading our separate ways in the morning.
