This trip takes place in the Frost Center Area, one of southern Ontario’s most accessible paddling areas. The Frost Center is a part of the Haliburton Highlands Water Trails which is a wonderful combination of large and small lakes as well as rivers making this area perfect for canoeing. Our picturesque 3 day route will take us to some spectacular lakes, with amazing campsites under huge pine trees.
It’s the perfect introduction to backcountry camping. The relaxed pace and education provided on this trip is great for young children and/or first timers! We start the trip with learning how to paddle and make our way to our campsite. This involves a portage or two on a maintained trail and crossing a few lakes.
In camp our guides will help you set up the campsite, including tents, kitchen, water station, bathroom, and get comfortable in our new home for the evening. Our staff will also help kiddos cook meals on the fire. Using nature as our classroom our days will be filled with swimming, playing, campfires, games and exploring the environment around us.
We will get dirty, we will be active, we will laugh and have loads of fun.
We acknowledge that the Haliburton Frost center is located on the traditional territories of the Anishinabek Nation and covered by the Williams Treaty (1923), and that we are visitors to this land.
