Adventure Overview

Learn how to build a fire and then cook a whole meal over it, set up a storm proof trap, use a map to navigate a variety of pristine lakes and streams. All this and more can be expected on your Bronze Adventurous Journey. As a group you will work together to paddle and portage everything you need to survive and thrive in the wilderness, building leadership skills along the way.

Our BRONZE trip takes us to the Frost Center, one of southern Ontario’s most accessible paddling areas, and being just below Algonquin Park it sees less traffic than the Park. A combination of large and small lakes, small rivers, and plenty of wildlife make this area a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. This route is the perfect blend of challenge and excitement for participants undertaking their first Adventurous Journey with the Award.

We acknowledge that the Haliburton Frost center is located on the traditional territories of the Anishinabek Nation and covered by the Williams Treaty (1923), and that we are visitors to this land.
