Adventure Overview
Embark on your second Adventurous Journey and expand your knowledge of backcountry travel by paddling and portaging overland through historically rich Temagami. Participants will continue to learn and practice canoe tripping skills they were introduced to during their Bronze Adventurous Journey such as fire building, campsite set up, paddling, and navigating with a map. You will learn to overcome obstacles and take advantage of each moment in one of Canada’s most popular canoeing destinations.
The Temagami wilderness is second to none. Home to the world’s oldest stand of red pine old growth, and vast deep lakes, this rugged terrain is the perfect location to challenge oneself both mentally and physically. This vast swath of land, nearly 2000km² large in Northern Ontario, is unique as far as protected areas go with a blend of Provincial Parks, Conservation areas and crown land with some of the most astonishing views Canada has to offer.
We acknowledge that the Temagami region is the traditional territory n’Daki Menan, home to the Teme-augama Anishnabai. There are many territories in this region recognized under the Robinson-Huron Treaty (Treaty 61, 1850), however the Teme-augama People were not represented at this treaty signing. We recognize that we are visitors to this land.
