The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Canada

We offer open enrolment expeditions as well as custom trips at all three Award levels. An expedition with MHO Adventures is the perfect way to accomplish your goals for the Award Adventurous Journey.  Not only will you be an active participant in the expedition but MHO Adventures is also available after your expedition to answer questions and support your learning. Our staff are keen to share their knowledge and experience and always look forward to our Award trips as an opportunity to connect with youth and expand their skill set. All Award trips need a minimum of 4 participants to run.

"Live comfortably in the wilderness, enjoying pristine scenery, gourmet meals and a safe and fun voyage."

SILVER – Temagami Canoe

Home to the world’s oldest stand of red pine old growth, the Temagami wilderness is second to none.  The rugged terrain is the perfect location to challenge oneself both mentally and physically and be rewarded with pristine lakes and astonishing views.

You can expect to travel by canoe and on land through historically rich areas, swim deep waters, and see ancient pictographs.  As far as protected areas go, this area is unique as it is a blend of Provincial Parks, Conservation areas and crown land.  Participants can expect to learn all the skills they need to lead this trip during the Practice Journey, and have to opportunity to put those skills to the test while they lead their peers in the wilderness, all with the guidance of our trained instructors.

    The food exceeded my expectations...

The food exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed that there was little or no "processed food" and virtually every meal was different, tasty, wholesome and interesting. One night, we were given the challenge of making our own calzones, which was a lot of fun.
