Program Overview
The Wilderness First Aid course is the ideal course for outdoor enthusiasts on overnight or short-term wilderness adventures. Students will be able to recognize medical emergencies and will become familiar with basic life-saving skills, patient assessment, and basic field care for common injuries.
Courses are run as a Licensed Training Provider with Wilderness Medical Associates International, the leading provider of wilderness medical training around the world. Certifications are internationally recognized.
This course includes a CPR C Certification

Food & Lodging
Our MHO Base sits on 20 acres of forested land just 15 minutes south of Huntsville, with Mary Lake only a short walk away. Students can enjoy a swim, take in the sunrise or sunset from the beach, or explore nearby trails for running, biking, or walking. Evenings often end gathered around the fire pit — a perfect spot to relax, share stories, and connect with nature.
We offer a range of comfortable onsite accommodation and meal options during courses:
Accommodation Options
- Tent Camping – $40 for the duration of the course. Please bring your own camping gear.
- Shared Bunkie – $45/night
- Private Bunkie – $125/night
Each bunkie includes two single bunks, a double loft, a couch and small coffee table. They’re heated and equipped with battery lanterns and charging banks— a cozy option for those who prefer a solid roof after a full day outdoors. (Rates are reduced from our standard $195/night rental for course participants.)
If you prefer, our neighbours at Muskoka Bible Centre (MBC) offer motel-style rooms just a 10-minute walk away. MBC provides a 15% discount on regular rates outside of July and August. To book directly, call 705-789-0123.
Meal Options
- Full Meal Plan (3 hot meals per day) – Not available on 2 day course
- Hot Lunch Only – $50
Home-cooked meals are prepared onsite and enjoyed family-style. Please note that cooking facilities are not available for individual use.
